Student Wellbeing
A–Z of Student Wellbeing
At Eltham Hill School, we care about the wellbeing of every student. From anti-bullying support and counselling to clubs, activities and opportunities to have your voice heard, there are many ways to access help, advice and support.
A Anti-Bullying
We take any reports of bullying seriously. We would encourage you to talk to any member of staff if you are worried.
There is an Anonymous Box in Student Services where you can post any concerns.
You can also email antibullying@elthamhill.greenwich.sch.uk .
B Breakfast
We have a breakfast club on site for students every morning and offer free bagels for any student who wishes to receive them.
C Counselling
If you would like counselling, please let the pastoral team know. We have specialist counsellors available for students and you can ask to be placed on the waiting list.
D Dealing with Grief, Loss and Death
If you need support after a bereavement, you can get support and guidance at your key group meeting.
Ask your tutor for details or speak to a member of the Inclusion or Student Services team.
E Enjoyment
We have lots of free clubs and activities for you to enjoy, make friends and try new things, such as Eco Club.
F Form Tutor
Your form tutor is someone you can go to if you are worried about any aspect of school life.
You can talk to them in school or email them using their school email account.
G Good Health
We make sure that you have lots of opportunities to take part in sport and healthy eating, with healthy food choices available at lunchtime.
H Homework Club
There is a homework club in the computer room so that you can get help and support with homework you have been given throughout the week. You can also go to the library or ask teachers for extra help.
I I.T.
We have dedicated computer rooms as well as laptop trolleys around the school that you can access for classwork and homework.
J Join In!
If you would like to run an event, for example for charity, or have an idea that you think would improve the school, let us know.
K Kooth
Soluna by Kooth is a confidential online counselling and wellbeing space for young people.
L Looking Out for Each Other
It is important that you let us know if you are worried about another person in school. Please speak to a member of staff if you are concerned.
M Mental Health
Our safeguarding and wellbeing staff are here to help and can refer you to the MHST (Mental Health in Schools Team) and other support options.
Resources are also available from YoungMinds.
N Next Steps
During your time at Eltham Hill School, we will take part in lots of events and activities to help you prepare for your next steps, including careers events, advice on options and help with university applications.
O Opportunities
We offer a huge range of clubs after school. Your class teachers will share opportunities with you and you can also find out about clubs on the school website and on ClassCharts.
P Prefects
We have a team of prefects who you can talk to about ideas you may have or if you are concerned about anything.
Q Quiet Spaces
We have a dedicated space for students who wish to take part in quiet religious activities such as praying.
R Rainbow Club
There is a weekly club for LGBTQIA+ students to discuss topical subjects and talk to staff and other students.
S School Council
The School Council provides a regular forum to ensure all students have a say in decisions about our school.
T Time to Talk
We have key workers who can work closely with you to support you at Eltham Hill. If you feel like you would like to talk to someone, speak to a member of staff.
U Unwell?
Our attendance and medical team can support you if you are absent, unwell or have medical issues and need extra support.
V Visits
There are lots of opportunities for visiting different places and taking part in trips. These are updated on the website and ClassCharts.
W Wellbeing Ambassadors
You can spot our Student Wellbeing Ambassadors around school by their lanyards. You can talk to them about anything that you are worried about.
X X Eltham Hill Xtra
This is a programme of events after school for Years 7 and 8, which helps to support your studies. These include exciting opportunities from drama performances to science demonstrations.
Y Youth Voice
There are many opportunities to share your ideas through Student Council, becoming a prefect or sharing ideas with your teachers.
Z Zzzzz
We encourage you to get enough sleep and give advice on avoiding too much phone use in the evening.
