An evening of glitz and glamour arrived at Eltham Hill on Thursday 14th October with our annual Celebration of Achievement Evening. This annual event allows us all to celebrate the excellence, happiness and success of our school community and to give praise to those students and colleagues who go above and beyond to achieve their own personal bests.

The evening was punctuated with some fine creative performances, including Ghinwa Greenwood,

Alistair Khan and Alliance Nsenga on the piano, our wonderful soloists Evie Gordon performing ‘Strange’ by Celeste and to draw the evening to a close Neave Brown performing ‘Turning Table’ by Adele. A whole host of awards and prizes were given to students for their academic and personal successes, whilst the extensive contributions of three members of staff, Ms. Chandrabose, Ms. Smith and Ms. Brignell were also celebrated.

Following some wonderful hospitality and catering at the beginning of the event, guests and award winners were also treated to a guest speaker Thelma Stober, Head of the legal team at the Local Government Association. Thelma motivated all who were present with her experiences of working as a barrister in many government legal services and in her role in bringing the 2012 Olympics and Paralympic games to London. However, it was her tremendous spirit of resilience, following life changing injuries that she suffered in the London bombing on 7th July 2005 that captured the optimistic and uplifting tone of the whole event. She was an inspiration, just as many of the evening’s award winners will be in the future.

We wish to extend our thanks to the parents, teachers, guest speakers, facilities team and – most importantly – our wonderful students for making the evening such a success. We look forward to celebrating more fantastic achievements with many other students and colleagues in Autumn 2022.
