We are thrilled to announce that Eltham Hill has bucked the national trend for their 2022 GCSE results. Nationally results are lower than they were over the last 2 years, when grades were based entirely on teacher assessments, however Eltham Hill’s results are both significantly above national and in fact even better than our 2021 results!  Despite the unprecedented challenges our students and their families faced during and after the pandemic, our students worked exceptionally hard with their teachers and we are delighted they have been rewarded with such fantastic results.

Our students results at grades 9-7 and grades 9-5 are exceptional for a completely comprehensive and inclusive school. 69% of all our students achieved 5+ in English and Maths, 49% of our students achieved at least three 7-9 grades and 39% of our students achieved five or more 7-9 grades! Particularly impressive sets of results were recorded by Connie Johnson who achieved eleven grade 9s, Ivy Shillabeer who achieved nine grade 9s and two grade 8s , Sophie-Tuyo Obute who achieved nine grade 9s , one grade 8 and one grade 7, Jessica Wilson who achieved nine grade 9s, two grade 8s and one grade 5 and Libby Amestoy who achieved eight grade 9’s  one grade 8 and one grade 7.

Overall English results continue to be significantly above average with 80 % of students achieving grades 9-5 and 51% achieving grades 9-7. Maths results are also very strong with 9-5 results at 73% and 9-7 at 40%. These coupled with great results in Science, Languages, History and Geography have led to Ebacc results that are well above national with 41% of our students achieving above a 5 in all elements of the Ebacc.

We even have eleven subjects where over half of all the students taking those subjects achieved grades 7-9!  They are GCSE Triple Sciences with 82% of grades at 9-7, Photography 66%, Design and Technology 63%, Drama 63%, French 62%, Music 60%, Textiles 60% Media 55% and Further Maths 53%.

Students taking BTEC qualifications also did very well with 34% of students achieving Distinction and 54% achieving a Merit or better.

We would like to congratulate all our students who worked so hard to achieve their best. Thank you to our parents too who have worked with us to support their daughters throughout these challenging Covid years. We have great teachers and pastoral support here at Eltham Hill and every member of staff has worked really hard to make sure our students were able to fulfill their potential. We are delighted that we all have so much to celebrate and look forward to welcoming many of our students back in September to our successful and high performing 6th form.
